Motu Patlu are far more than two beloved cartoon characters. Over the decades, they have become an enduring part of Indian popular culture and an inseparable part of countless childhoods. Behind their remarkable evolution stands the sustained creative contribution, perseverance, and foresight of Dr. Harvinder Mankkar, whose association with these characters spans nearly five decades.


When Dr. Harvinder Mankkar took up the creative responsibility of Motu Patlu, the characters primarily appeared in the pages of the Lotpot comic. At that stage, they were essentially comic-book personalities. Dr. Harvinder Mankkar, however, recognised possibilities far beyond the printed page.


His vision was not merely to preserve the characters but to expand their creative universe and introduce them to new generations through emerging forms of visual entertainment. With remarkable foresight, he explored the possibilities of bringing Motu Patlu to life through muppet-puppet films and subsequently contributed to their development in 2D animation, working alongside Mr. A.
