Dr. Harvinder Mankkar

 

Dr. Harvinder Mankkar is an internationally acclaimed artist, writer, and motivational speaker who holds a Doctorate in Art and Culture from Victoria Global University, USA. A prodigious talent, he began his career as a cartoonist at the young age of 15. His most iconic creation, Motu Patlu, first appeared in the comic magazine Lotpot, and he has been the sole artist and writer continuously producing weekly comic series of Motu Patlu for the past 46 years — a rare feat that stands as a world record.


With over 22,000 illustrated books to his name, Dr. Mankkar is a Gold Medalist, honored by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India. One of the proudest moments of his life was illustrating a biography of Dr. Kalam and having it launched by the legend himself.


In addition to Motu Patlu, Dr. Mankkar has created more than 200 unique comic characters, including popular names like Jaanbaaz Deva, Natkhat Neetu, Minni and Girl Gang, Sampat-Champat, Mamaji, and many others — each with a distinctive style, message, and fan following.


He has also worked as a writer and storyboard artist for four Hollywood films, and has written and directed numerous Hindi television shows. His contributions to Hindi cinema have also been notable. As a commercial filmmaker, he has created over 800 advertisement films, leaving a strong imprint in the Indian media industry.


Dr. Mankkar is the Founder and President of the Celebrity Club of India, a growing community of thousands of artists, celebrities, and social workers united by their passion for cultural advancement and public service. As a motivational speaker, he has conducted sessions and represented India in the UK, USA, Dubai, Singapore, Europe, and other parts of the world, inspiring audiences through his life journey and visionary work.
